Oriental Trellis
Oriental is our most modern panel. It is the most cost effective and the panel we are able to make the fastest because of the systems we have in place. You are able to alter the gap in Oriental (Standard is 10mm) but you can go from 5mm – 50mm. This normally adds around 10% to the price when altering. We use a standard 30mm wide batten but we do have a 36mm premium batten available. Also with Oriental you can choose to go framed or unframed. Typically if you need it framed it is more cost effective to get us to frame it. Some trellis is installed with beading rather than a frame. Typically an unframed panel is about 70% of the cost of a framed panel.

Oriental trellis (otherwise known as Venetian, Japanese, or Horizontal) is the most common and our most popular design.
It is great for privacy screens or to bring a nice change to your property’s fencing.
Oriental trellis has a much more modern look than Diagonal or Square.
We use a 36mm batten on the reverse of our Oriental trellis to give more rigidity and all of the connections are double stapled with stainless steel staples.
Each Oriental panel we build is custom spec so you can request any dimension you need.
With the Oriental design we can run the main battens vertically rather than horizontally if required.
It is worth noting that we do not differentiate the design name if the slats run vertical, rather than horizontal - we just identify that as part of your requirements.
Our standard spacing is 10mm between battens however we do have the ability to alter this to 5mm, 20mm, 30mm or more if required.

Our standard batten is approximately 30mm x 9mm – it is a good quality, smooth batten however it does have some light defects and non-uniformity. It is a great product for trellis fencing and 95% of the time this is what we use. The actual dimensions are 29mm x 9mm when we are asked to be specific.
Our premium batten is 38mm although it can often be measured as 36mm. This batten carries a 10% premium on price.

With each of our designs there is the ability to have the product framed or unframed. If you are needing a frame around the product (we refer to the framing as u-mould, framing, or capping) then it is far more efficient to include it in your build as it will save you time and money.
We only stock 1 frame which is 45cm x 45cm and is a nice, smooth, high quality timber. Although it can have some light defects it is what we consider a great timber for what we do.

We only use 45cm x 45cm framing as it has a good structure and “meat” so that we can screw into it. And it has the best durability.
Every trellis panel is custom made and we work with a +/- 3mm tolerance.
